Student’s life in the dorm:
H |
iba is freshman in the Higher Institute of Communication and Information who will share with us some insights into her daily life, which she spends between the institution and the dorm.
Hiba lives in the dorm since it is near her institute. Thus, we take this opportunity to inquire about her life in that place by asking her five questions to pick up more information about the students experience and discover what dorm life is like.
Hiba, thank you for accepting my invitation and I’m looking forward to your answers. So first,
v Give a general idea about what is the dorm? And how many students live there?
So basically, the dorm is like an ideal place for those whom houses are far away and don’t have relatives there to live with for the moment, and in each dorm you can find between 2 and 4 roommates and of course it is not mixed the girls have their own building and the same goes for boys.
v Since you are always surrounded by your roommates, how can you stay disciplined and motivated for your studies and remain unaffected by them?
I try to keep my distance from them by putting headphone and focusing on my homework, I just do my work and at the morning when I wake up early I try to dodge noise in order to avoid bothering my roommates.
v When did you decide to live in the dorm?
Since the day I knew that I was accepted in ISIC, because Rabat still far from Casablanca and for me the better choice is the dorm which is near to the institute.
v Have you ever faced any bad experience in the dorm and how did you react toward it?
Till now, I didn’t face any bad experiences as I told you I remain my distance and avoid being surrounded by many students since it makes me uncomfortable and not everyone is really a trustworthy person and even if I was face to any kind of this situation for me communication is the key of everything.
v Why did you choose to live in the dorm and not renting a house, does the dorm give any benefits to the student?
Personally, I chose the dorm because it is private and has a limit access not everyone are allowed to enter just those who are registered in and have the card as an evidence and why I didn’t rent a house cause it is unsecured. For me, living in an empty house is scary and even if I was with a friend it still as dangerous as if I was alone because the house is a huge responsibility and it should be garden.
